Individuals Paying It Forward
  Dear Catherine,

Your book and the Movie "Pay It Forward" were inspirational to say the least. In these times when everyone seems to me, me, me", it is wonderful to have good books and movies about kindness than killing and such. I had been having a horrible couple of weeks where one thing after another seemed to go wrong and I was at my wits end. A co-worker and I stopped in to grab a cup of coffee at a Bill's Barbeque in Richmond, VA and as I was leaving the black woman that served me said "Have a Blessed Day!" Well for whatever reason, it really was heart felt and turned my whole attitude around and it felt like a huge weight had been lifted off of me. As the morning went on, I started getting calls about some of the problems with people I had been having trouble with and everything started clearing up. Regardless of if it had, my overall sense of well-being had been uplifted and all my stress had been removed. When I went back to eat lunch, I found I had a $50 bill in my wallet and gave it to the waitress telling her to "go out and have a wonderful evening on me". I also thanked her for her simple words of kindness that had meant so much to me.

Recently we had contractors working on our home and found out one of them who had a son, was having a hard time, with little money, trying to make ends meet. My wife and I went out and bought them pots and pans, blankets and pillows, measuring cups, etc to help them out. We boxed everything up and had him take it home with him when he left. He assumed we had given him used extras we had around the house, but the next day he thanked us repeatedly for the kindness. I told him today about the movie "Pay it Forward" and said he should see it. I also said when he found himself in better times, to try and do something nice for another needing person.

Many thanks to you and all like you who help bring good change to the world we live in. Hopefully times will change where there is more caring about your fellow man than there seems to be these days.

Sincerely,
George
